BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
The Behavioral Health Department at Interaction provides mental health counseling for youth (12-18) and adults.
All services are typically provided in a traditional office setting. However, we recognize that sitting in an office does not work for everyone. If you need other arrangements, please let us know.
Counseling and assessments through Interaction are billable through VT Medicaid. We cannot currently bill other insurances, but documentation can be provided for reimbursement purposes upon request, and sliding scales and payment arrangements are available.
Individuals seeking counseling can call Heather Smith, Director of Behavioral Health Services at 802-257-0361 x124 for information or to schedule an initial appointment to discuss their needs.
SUBSTANCE USE SERVICES
Interaction recognizes that substance use, misuse and dependence affect not only the individual but also friends, family, and the community at large.
We believe that support and counseling for individuals, couples and families are effective methods to address substance related issues. We create a safe place to explore one’s relationship to substances, and the impact of such use from their perspective. We also provide substance use assessments when required (such as by Probation or Court Diversion).
Our consultation, assessment and counseling services are designed to decrease hazardous use, assist in recovery as defined by the person themselves, improve relationships, and explore alternative coping skills. Our clinicians employ harm reduction approaches to ensure the best care for our clients.

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING
We provide a non-judgmental and age-appropriate space for individuals 12 and older, families and couples and non-monogamous relationships, to gain personal insight, develop strategies and build skills to accomplish their goals. With respect and compassion, our behavioral health team will provide a safe space to work on whatever brings you to therapy. Based on clients’ personal goals, counseling can build resiliency, provide education, and improve mood and overall mental health.
